Made with care by the Ontario Knife Company, the RAT-5 Survival Knife is viewed by many as the Ultimate Survival Knife. The RAT-5 was designed specifically to be as multi-purpose and effective as possible for downed pilots. For many people, if they could only choose one knife to take into the wilderness with them, it would be the RAT-5, making it maybe the Ultimate Survival Knife.
At 312g, it is heavy enough to be used as a makeshift axe and will cut through wood like butter, making building shelters just that little bit easier.
The RAT-5 is made from 1095 Carbon Steel and heated to 55-57RC. It comes equipped with ergonomically designed, lightweight canvas micarta handle scales for increased grip when wet. The scales are secured to the tang with stainless steel screws
The full-tang knife is also built with glass breaker pommel and lanyard hole.
The blade is made with a flat grind and has a black powder-coated finish.
